Termite Control Service (Residential and Commercial)
McDonough, Atlanta, Savannah, GA.
They were introduced in the U.S. in the 60’s along the Gulf Coastal Areas. At first, the only situations we would find them would be connected to infested landscape timbers or wood from down in that area. We are now finding them in natural colonies in the ground. We have had several Formosan Termite finds in Georgia. You can distinguish them how ?
1. Reddish Brown Swarmers (Reproductives) – 2. Swarm At Night
Their colonies are much larger than Native Subterranean Termites. They cause significant damage faster.
These are Drywood Termites. It s a little unusual for us to find them like this in Georgia. These were found on the Northside of Atlanta area in the back of a large home. We were unable to trace exactly how this happened. They were liimited to an area that was opened up and we injected foam termiticide into the galleys and were successful in containing the infestation thus avoiding a very expensive fumigation. Drywood Termites have no contact with the soil and colonize and reproduce in the wood itself. Subterranean Termites are what we usually are dealing with. They colonize under the soil and build mud tubes up into a structure taking the cellulose out of the wood and taking it down to their colonies underground to be shared. We can provide a barrier of Termiticide around your home that will prevent them from coming in and eliminate the activity if it iexists.
Termites Cause A Lot Of Damage To Structures
Termite Cause more damage to structures than fires and storms combined!
Most Termites in Georgia and South Carolina are caused by Subterranean Termites. (Eastern or Formosan) The colonies are almost always underground. The workers in the caste system colony forage for cellulose by building soil tubes up close to the top of the ground. (Thats where the food is) Their colonies are insulated by soil and they can withstand cold weather. By providing a barrier with Fipronil (Termidor, Taurus) around the foundation and connecting slabs and voids we can give the client the best treatment method available in our industry
We can perform an inspection on your property and give you an evaluation and estimate for Termite Protection. We prefer Liquid Termiticides Treatment to Bait Systems in most cases.

Termite Treatments - Applications
Most termite control professionals develop a preference for one or more termiticides based on their experiences with that product. Because product performance can vary from one locality and soil type to another, these preferences may be quite valid. Ask operator to justify their choice of a product. Inquire about how long that product has been used by the company.
Tests conducted by Texas A&M University at five sites throughout the state over the past 20 years show that all currently registered termiticides have a life expectancy of from four to ten years. Non-repellent type termiticides (fipronil, imidacloprid, chlorfenpyr) appear to work better (especially in Georgia’s’ heavy clay soils) compared to termiticides that are repellent to termites (e.g., permethrin, cypermethrin, bifenthrin). It’s generally better to choose a company based on its service, reputation and warranty, rather than which termiticide it uses. Also, most termite control companies will give you a product choice, should you request it.
Regardless of the product used, the highest permitted application rate is generally best and will last longest. This may cost slightly more, but research shows that higher rates result in the best performance over the life of your termite warranty.
